Our Mission
The John Howard Society is an organization of citizens who accept responsibility for
understanding and dealing with the problems of crime and the criminal justice system.
THE MISSION OF THE JOHN HOWARD SOCIETY IS:
- To provide for the effective integration into the community of those in conflict
with the law, and to provide, or encourage others to provide, services to those in
conflict with, or affected by, the Criminal Justice System;
- To promote change in the law and the administration of justice which will lead
to a more humane and effective treatment of individuals; and
- To promote citizen awareness of an acceptance of responsibility for the
problems of crime and the Criminal Justice System; and to ensure that citizens may
become involved in the delivery and management of justice related programmes.
